Art Deco was a design style that took the world by storm in the mid 1920's. Fashion and design had been through Art Nouveau [think late 19th century with all the scrolls and elaborate femininity of Belle Epoque of Paris] when a 1925 French art exposition at Le Musee des Arts Decoratifs blew peoples minds.
